Draymond Green-Jordan Poole fight: Warriors PF likely won’t run out of games for practice showdown

Thursday update –Warriors general manager Bob Myers says Draymond Green’s discipline will be handled internally, but the power forward is unlikely to miss any games due to his practice showdown with Jordan Poole. Green has been known to get into feuds with anyone when charged, so going after Poole isn’t entirely surprising. Golden State is usually able to get over those little things, like it did when Green and Kevin Durant had a trade during a game.

Update – So apparently Poole came to camp with a different attitude towards his teammates about to sign a big extension, according to Chris Haynes.

The Golden State Warriors could discipline PF Draymond Green after a physical altercation with SG Jordan Poole in training on Wednesday, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Right now, the Warriors are considering options to discipline Green, who we know has a long history of suspensions. It’s just normally that they’re not there to get down to it with a teammate.

The two had a heated interaction and Green punched Poole before they were separated, according to Shams’ report. Apparently, this is nothing new between Green and Poole, who have had heated conversations before. The report via staff describes that “a line has been crossed”.

Does this have an impact on the team a few weeks before opening night? Probably not. It’s the Dubs. The defending champions. Things will work out eventually. It’s not like any of them would ask for a trade or anything (at least not yet).

The Warriors enter 2022-23 with the second-best odds to return back-to-back and win it all again at +600 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Poole is the favorite to win the 6th Man of the Year at +400. Green has +1100 chances of winning Defensive Player of the Year.
